Good Morning!

Good morning everyone. Today is Sunday Funday, lets hope it will be. :-)

So last night my sister and her husband came to town to celebrate her 29th birthday, yah she is getting old can you believe it?! Ha ha, JK!

Well, I had planned on making dinner, having good appetizers, making a yummy birthday cake, playing some fun games, etc. I was pretty excited all week about Saturday's activity list...but of course you know what that means...high expectations always delivers some kind of disappointment.

So I get home from work at around 5:20pm, ready to get the celebration started. (Teresa and Travis got over to my apartment around 3:30pm) As I open the door, they are just sitting on the couch, in the dark, watching TV. Travis works nights and he had worked the night before and I guess hadn't slept at all...so right away I knew it was a great start to the night. Ha Ha.

Well, so then I try and pump everyone up and we open a bottle of wine, turn the music on and try and get excited for the night's festivities...it was going well for a little while...everyone was talking, eating, etc.

So my sweet boyfriend, Evan, comes over at about 7pm with some beer, which is nice of him to bring over...I give him probably the cheapest bottle opener out of the 3 I had apparently...and he gets the bottle open, and slices his finger open at the same time :-/. I mean...he was gushing blood, it is a really bad cut.

After we get the open wound under control, we decide to play a game of pictionary...this went pretty well. My sister and Travis won because me and Evan had the unfortunate luck of just rolling "all plays." Hmmm.

Well dinner is ready by this time, and we all sit down at the table and eat. It was pretty good, I'll have to say...so at least that went ok.

The rest of the evening consisted of us trying to figure out what to do, Travis falling asleep then waking up, Travis and Evan playing on their phones, us eating the cake I made that had MELTED, and my sister getting really drunk. (She will blame it on the fact that Oklahoma only has 3 point beer.)

I guess next time I plan a birthday dinner extravaganza, I will remember that it will probably not go as great as I envision it in my head and opt to go out to eat instead. Hmm, live and learn I suppose.
