Do You Believe?

Ok, so on my recent trip to New Orleans, as you read in my previous post, I went on a Voodoo tour through a cemetery. Well, the most famous tomb out of the whole cemetery was the tomb of Marie Laveau. For those of you who are not cultured on New Orleans Voodoo history, Marie Laveau was one of the most famous Voodoo Queens that ever lived. I don't know the difference between a Voodoo Queen and a Voodoo Priestess, but that is besides the point.

Well, in the Voodoo religion, people who are in need will come to a person that practices Voodoo to get help in their lives. From what our tour guide told us people would come to Marie Laveau to be cured of illness, to keep their husbands faithful, etc.

In the religion, even after death she is able to help anyone that is truly in need. What you have to do is knock on her tomb and make a wish, and if your wish is true to your heart, then she will help it come true.

So I am down with superstitions and I believe in higher powers so I was all for knocking and making a wish. Well, let me tell you, my wish was totally from the heart and it has NOT come true yet. That doesn't mean I don't believe it won't but what do y'all think? (Don't think I'll tell you what my wish was because that absolutely violates rule #1 of the wish making process)

I am a pretty superstitious person...I knock on wood, knock on glass, etc. etc. I make wishes when the clock gets to be 12:34 or 11:11. I mean...who doesn't right? lol. I do the whole eyelash blowing thing and those little weeds that have all those things that blow off of them. I even make a wish when my necklace clasp gets down to the pendant on my necklace. Call me crazy, I don't care but I believe in stuff like that...if any reason because it is fun to test things out, right?

Hmmm, I also whole heartedly believe that everything happens for a reason. This has been proven to me countless times over and over again in my life so far, and I don't doubt that it will continue.

Just a penny for my thoughts today I suppose...I'm not feeling too well and my sister inspired me to write something tonight, so there ya go.
