New Year, New Beginnings

So this is the last week of 2009. I am off work, so I am doing lots of thinking. I have set a couple of New Year's resolutions and I am excited about them. I am going to use 2010 to become a more well-rounded individual :-)

One of my New Year's resolutions it to become a better cook. My boyfriend is a great cook and it is a little embarrassing that I am not, so I have decided that practice makes perfect right? I enjoy cooking, especially when I make something really good that I can be proud of.

On that subject, this morning I watched Julie and Julia. I thought it was so inspiring, to cook, to blog more, it was just such a good movie. So this is what I'm going to do...in an attempt to not totally copy the movie I have decided to blog about my cooking attempts. It may not be too interesting but I think it would be exciting for me, and a motivator...

For Christmas my mom got me an electric grill for my patio. It is very handy because it is a full size little grill but I can just plug it in and use it. Very easy and simple! I think this will come in handy, I used to grill quite a bit when I lived in Lubbock. I have also started a 'recipe box' on FoodNetwork.com, you can save recipes on there which is pretty cool. I have a couple that I have saved that I would like to try out. I am looking forward to 2010, I really want to get out and do things that I normally wouldn't do. I want to get new hobbies and find new interests. I think 2010 will be a great year. Does anyone have any ideas of hobbies? I was talking to my friend Simone about this today. We were discussing how we would like some new hobbies, besides the usual work and school type thing.

Today was the first day of my vaca. I had a pretty good day overall. I worked out a little in the morning, watched a couple of movies in bed. In the afternoon, Simone and I went to the Galleria and I got some cute stuff, had some much needed girl talk and ate some chinese food. I just painted my nails and I'm watching a Lifetime movie, which is always a hit. I'm thinking about pouring myself a glass of wine and cuddling up on my couch.

Santa was good to me this year. In addition to the gifts Evan got me and the grill from my mom, I got a new TV from my dad and Robyn, some super cute plates with 'Live Laugh Love' on them, gift cards, Vickie's stuff, etc. It was a good Christmas. Hope you all had a good holiday as well.

Well that is all for now, I will keep you updated!

Live.Laugh.Love. ~Becca
